Pitas are the best when they eaten immediately after cooking. Pita bread is middle eastern flatbread that puff up when baked in a hot oven.

MIX Pita bread mix, oil, water and dry yeast together to form a soft dough.
KNEAD well for 8-10 mins or until a well-developed dough is formed.
PLACE the dough in an oil-coated bowl, cover loosely with a damp cloth and allow the dough to rest for 30 minutes.
DIVIDE the dough into 8 small round balls and again cover the round balls and let them rest for 10 minutes.
ROLL each small ball into thick round sheets (approx. 5 mm thickness) using a rolling pin.
LET the flatbreads rest for approximately 5 minutes.
BAKE in a preheated oven at 220°C for 4-6 mins or cook for 2 mins on each side on a medium flame using a skillet.
